REVIEWS

Story

The story was simply amazing. As I was watching this drama, there were often twists and turns I really didn`t expect. In the end, the story was really great. Even though it didn`t end the way I would`ve wanted to because I wanted to see more of what will happen (hence the petition for season 2 of this show), I was still quite happy with how it turned out.

Actors and Scenes

The actors and actresses were really good with their roles. IU played a bubbly, caring, curious, happy, fun and multi-talented Hae Soo. IU has a really cute and doll-like face, voice and personality which seem to suit her character greatly.

Lee Joon-gi performed really well with the dangerous, mysterious and serious character of 4th Prince Wang So. His calm yet serious demeanor and striking eyes fit his character.

Kang Ha-neul`s wholesome look fit 8th Prince Wang Wook`s personality quite well. He executed the 8th Prince`s intelligent, honorable, mature and admirable demeanor in a way that suits the character and story line even up to the end of the story.

Hong Jong-hyun reminded me so much of Kim Woo-bin who starred on "The Heirs" (2013) as Choi Young-do and "Uncontrollably Fond" (2016) as Shin Joon-young and Bigbang`s T.O.P. The malevolent character of 3rd Prince Wang Yo seem to fit Hong Jong-hyun`s fierce* eyes and serious demeanor.

Recommendations:

These recommendations are specifically for Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo based on personal experience.

1.) Don`t watch the trailer. When I started watching this drama, I didn`t even know what the real plot is expect for brief clips I saw during the commercial while watching Doctor Crush. My only knowledge about this is that it`s a historical drama and it seemed like a show that fights for one girl.

2.) Don`t look at the drama poster. Looking at the this drama`s poster will only let you know who the real main characters are. Not knowing who the main characters are can be really exciting as you keep on watching the drama. When I started watching this, I didn`t know who the main characters are. This allowed me truly watch the drama without background knowledge of whose ending with whom.

Rating: 9.5/10

All in all, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo is an emotionally evoking drama with quite a lot of surprises and twists in the story. The entire story and show was well-made making it one of the highly-favored dramas of 2016.

If you are very interested in this drama`s story or if you greatly liked it, you can sign a petition for the creation of season 2 of this drama here.
