Spoiler-Free Korean Drama Review: 7 First Kisses

Annyeong Haseyo!

7 First Kisses is a South Korean web drama starring top male actors Lee Joon Gi, Park Hae Jin, Ji Chang Wook, EXO`s Kai, 2 PM`s Taec Yeon, Lee Jong Suk and Lee Min Ho. This short drama is in cooperation with Lotte Duty Free.

Genre: Fantasy, Romance, Romantic Comedy
Episodes: 8
Time: Approximately 10 minutes/episode
Location/s: South Korea
(Available to watch at Lotte Duty Free`s Youtube Channel)

Lee Cho Hee - Min Soo-jin
Choi Ji Woo - Goddess of Fate
Lee Joon Gi - Lee Joon Gi
Park Hae Jin - Park Hae Jin
Ji Chang Wook - Ji Chang Wook
EXO`s Kai - Kai
2 PM`s Taec Yeon - Taec Yeon
Lee Jong Suk - Lee Jong Suk
Lee Min Ho - Lee Min Ho

Min Soo-jin is an employee at Lotte Duty Free who never had a boyfriend and first kiss. On her 25th birthday, she met a goddess, a beautiful and tall woman who grants her a wish in exchange for returning her booklet. The wish and her choice could potentially change her love life forever.

The story started out as interesting and romantically cheesy. However, the ending may not be very satisfying for the viewers. It really seems that this web drama was only created for the purpose of advertising Lotte Duty Free.

All I can say is that this is such a great advertisement for Lotte Duty Free. It`s like creating the hopes and visions for K-drama or K-pop fans or admirers that whenever they shop at Lotte Duty Free, something similar or as awesome as meeting your favorite stars can happen when they go there. This creates the subconscious mindset that they should shop more at Lotte Duty Free because they could somehow meet someone amazing like the love of their life there.

The concept of the story was great because it will surely appeal to many Korean drama admirers especially to young women because the cast includes 7 of the most popular actors in South Korea. Lee Joon Gi of Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, Park Hae Jin of Cheese in the Trap, Ji Chang Wook of Healer (2014-2015) and The K2 (2016), EXO`s Kai, 2 PM`s Taecyon, Lee Jong Suk of “W” (2016), and Lee Min Ho of Boys Over Flowers (2009) and Legend of the Blue Sea (2016-2017) were all present in this drama as the male leading actors. This web drama is almost like a dream come true for many K-pop and K-drama fans but it ended up becoming solely as a great advertisement. It would`ve been better if the drama was an actual 16-20 episode Korean drama with carefully and thoughtfully created plot.

All male characters seem to be in their own personal element and Ji Chang Wook played a very similar role to his character in Healer and The K2.

The production was great and of high quality. They really were able to insert advertisements for Lotte Duty Free quite well because they blended naturally with the story.

Spoiler-Free Korean Drama Review: 7 First Kisses

7 First Kisses is probably a fantasy of many K-drama admirers because it starred popular and top actors. However, due to the last episode of the drama, it simply became a great advertisement for Lotte Duty Free. It would be frustrating to a lot of viewers who didn`t know that this was mainly a promotional web series. However, anybody who doesn`t like watching long dramas might want to try watching this because it`s only around 10 minutes each episode.
